EDC moves to The Observatory
Ebbsfleet Development Corporation (EDC) has found a new home, where it will continue its work to help create the UK’s first garden city in more than 100 years.
EDC, set up by the government to be the driving force behind the creation of new homes, communities and retail space in the region, moved to The Observatory at the heart of a major development in Eastern Quarry at the end of February.
Here there are plans for 6,250 homes to be created across three villages, as well as a range of leisure, commercial and education facilities.
The goal for Ebbsfleet Garden City is to create up to 15,000 homes and 30,000 new jobs in the next 15 years, and also offer a major new commercial centre, seven city parks and improved public transport.
