Ebbsfleet Garden City was showcased at the UK's largest property event in 2017 for the first time, as part of a north Kent-based partnership venture to attract developers and investors to the region.

The North Kent Enterprise Zone (NKEZ) showcased opportunities for firms in the digital technologies, education, healthcare, life sciences, engineering and manufacturing industries to invest in the area, at MIPIM UK on 18 and 19 October.

Established in summer 2017, the NKEZ highlights opportunities at Ebbsfleet Garden City, Kent Medical Campus, and Innovation Park Medway, with discounted business rates for firms who relocate there.

According to the NKEZ, around 10,000 jobs will be created by 2026; once the zone is fully occupied and employment target is met, it is expected to bring in around £443.5 million to the Kent and Medway economies.

Ian Piper, the interim chief executive for Ebbsfleet Development Corporation, said: "Having Ebbsfleet Garden City as part of the NKEZ opens up many opportunities to businesses wanting to set up or relocate here.

"The Garden City is undoubtedly in the best location in the country and is perfectly placed for those wanting to do business in the UK and in Europe."
