Ebbsfleet named key location for commuters

Ebbsfleet has featured on a list of places near London that offer good value housing and short commutes to London.

The London Evening Standard’s Home and Property section carried research in November by global real estate firm Savills, which found that the average price of houses within 25 minutes of the capital was £497,442.

Homes close to Ebbsfleet International station, however, can be purchased at an average of £218,741, according to the research, with an average detached home found to be a little more than £300,000.

The study claimed that commuters moving out of London could save up to £150,000 a year. An annual season ticket for the 18-minute journey to central London costs £4,428.

“The thought of living by a major station might not immediately appeal — but within a mile of Ebbsfleet your other options include Gravesend, Northfleet, and Swanscombe,” the Standard concluded.
